As a child, I was always content when I had a crayon, a pencil, and some paper nearby.<br /></span><br /><div><div><div><div><div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">As a young girl, I "designed" and sewed my own Barbie clothes! </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">As a teenager I learned how to knit, cross-stitch and quilt. </span><br /><span style="font-family: georgia;"></span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">I have created "scrapbooks" ever since I was a teenager and kept gum wrappers, hand-written notes, and other memorabilia of my high-school and university years . </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">When my fiancé and I announced our wedding in May 1989, I decided right then and there that I would do all the decorations for the special day in July 1990. With the help of my sisters we created my headpiece, my bouquet, all the bridesmaids bouquets and I even helped my aunt decorate my cake! </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">When I began seeing scrapbooking on the internet a few years ago, I had my own tole painting online store and I TRIED to stay away from scrapbooking for as long as I could because I KNEW that once I took the plunge, there was no turning back! I began to create what you would call a REAL scrapbook in the Fall of 2003. </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">I have a Bachelor of Education and am an elementary teacher. I took some art courses in university and loved them and did very well in them. I teach art in the school where I am currently teaching. </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">My husband and I have been married since 1990. He is the most wonderful person and my very best friend. We have two sons who are the inspiration of many of my layouts. Their names are Alexander (18) and Nathan(15). </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">I am very passionate about scrapbooking and every chance I get (which is about EVERY DAY!) I spend it creating something. My favorite time is SUMMER when I get two full months of ME time to scrap 'til I drop! </span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-family: georgia;">Many of the skills that I have learned from being a teacher for 20 years have taught me to be a strong, energetic person with a great work ethic. I am able to handle large work loads. I LOVE challenges and on many of the forums I am on, I take on many of them with vigor and passion. Challenges spark my creativity and I enjoy them.<br /><br /><strong><span style="font-size: 130%;">Objective:</span></strong><br />I am very interested in sharing my creativity and passion for scrapbooking with others. I would be available to take a position as Design Team Member at any time. I would have a very quick turn-around time for scrapbooking projects, as most of my evenings are free for "ME time"! I have my own computer, digital camera, scanner and unlimited internet access and am available most evenings to get involved in your forum and help out in moderating, planning online crops, posting card and layout sketches, posting challenges and adding new layouts and altered projects to your gallery, and just keeping the conversations upbeat and up-to-date on your forum. My creativity and enthusiasm make me a perfect candidate to work with a scrapbooking store owner and other Design Team members as a designer and forum moderator. I am flexible, driven and very professional. I work well with others and work well under time constraints and I know I would be an asset to any design team. Most importantly, I am constantly challenging myself to learn fresh, new techniques that come out and then applying them to my scrapbooking projects.<br /><br /><strong><span style="font-size: 130%;">Styles &amp; Techniques:</span></strong><br />I love to use a wide variety of products when I am creating. Even though I don't have a LSS nearby (nearest is 6 hours drive from me) I have many products to use as I order from online stores and receive monthly kits and have been the recipient of many items by winning numerous contests and RAKS from online friends. My favorite techniques right now are sewing, stamping, inking, using the fabulous ribbon and flowers and using computer software in creating scrapbook layouts , cards, mini-albums and altered items. I love to try new products and new techniques.
